Raw Shea Butter from Cleopatra's Choice


So I've always wanted to learn how to make my own body lotions, scrubs, hair masks, and other DIY items. I just didn't know where to begin. I received this 100% pure African Shea Butter and was super excited to create my own things.  I have really dry, flaky skin and lotions just weren't doing it for me. I melted it down a bit and added my own essential oils to it. At night, I lathered it on. It went on smoothly and very easily. I could tell my skin loved it because it absorbed it instantly. I went to bed and the next morning my legs were SOOOOOO soft. I was hooked after that. I then decided to make a sugar scrub with it. It turned out awesome. This stuff is so versatile. One pound really goes a long way. After making my moisturizer, sugar scrub, and a whipped Shea butter hair mask I still have half a pound left. I can't believe it took me so long to make my own things. I am so glad I received this Shea butter from Cleopatra's Choice. I will definitely be recommending it to everyone I know.

Valentia Even Glow Vitamin C Serum Review

Since I'm getting older I realized I really need to start taking care of my skin more. I have been using this Valentia Even Glow Vitamin C serum for about three weeks now. I'm quite impressed with it. In the beginning I noticed I was breaking out more than usual and I almost stopped using it. I figured my skin just needed to get used to it and I'm glad I kept going. My skin absorbs this stuff so fast and I can tell my face loves it. It's made with Organic Rosehip Oil, Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil, Green Tea Extract, Botanical Hyaluronic Acid, and Resistem (Plant Stem Cells.) It fades dark spots, reduces wrinkles, and increases collagen production. I've noticed my skin is much softer to touch and it's a lot more hydrated than before. I have sensitive, acne prone, dry skin. After the first week and a half of breaking out my skin finally got used to it. Now my skin is clearer. Overall I'm very happy with this product. It's definitely something I'll be recommending to people. The smell is my favorite. The benefits on the skin are nice too!

So I decided since I'm getting older I need to start taking better care of my skin. Clean & Clear is just no longer working for me. I set out to email a bunch of skin care companies and asked for samples. I didn't want to invest a ton of money without knowing which products worked for me. I've gotten some great samples recently and so far I'm very pleased with a few of them. These companies just gained a new customer.

Mario Badescu Strawberry Face Scrub

Let me just tell you how DELICIOUS this stuff smells. I wanted to eat it. It smells so good and looked like pureed strawberries. It's made from real strawberry seeds. The texture was amazing. You just put it on your face, using your fingers and going in a circular motion. It gently buffs away dry and flaky skin while natural AHA's break down buildup, unclog pores, and reveal healthy looking skin. I was very impressed with how soft my face felt after using it. It's definitely a new item I'll be adding to my facial skin care regimen. 

Next favorite item I received from Mario Badescu is the Enzyme Cleaning Gel.

The cleansing gel is made from Papaya and Grapefruit extracts that contain AHA's to breakdown buildup for clearer skin without over drying it. It's a non foaming gel that just melts away your makeup at the end of the day. I love that is didn't dry my face out. A lot of products I have tried end up over drying my face and making me peel and flake. This stuff was gentle yet effective on my skin.

Another product in the picture above that I have had the chance to try is the Hyaluronic Eye Cream. I had been wanting to try it for months but couldn't talk myself into spending the money and not knowing if it worked. Well, it did. I put it on at night after washing my face and it was so nice. It didn't make the area around my eyes feel oily and greasy which I was worried about. I really enjoy it and will definitely be purchasing it.

I was really impressed with the Mario Badescu products I received and am thankful I was able to try them before purchasing. They have many different items for all different skin types. Definitely a company I will be recommending to my friends and family.

Birthday is coming up soon, only 6 more days. I'll be 27! Life has been going super well lately.

Zoey just turned 1. I can't believe I got her when she was only 5 weeks old. She's such a sweet girl. I love her so much.
